The tour commences in Broome, where guests arrive and meet their expert APT Driver-Guide. An included transfer brings travellers in from the airport, with time to relax before the journey begins. Broome’s relaxed pearling-town atmosphere offers the perfect prelude to the remote landscapes and signature experiences that lie ahead over the coming two weeks.

Setting out along the legendary Gibb River Road, travellers reach Windjana Gorge, where towering limestone walls were once part of an ancient reef and freshwater crocodiles bask along the riverbanks. Leaving El Questro, the tour heads along the rugged Gibb River Road toward the remote Mitchell Plateau. A signature day on the Mitchell Plateau. Travellers visit a rock art gallery to admire ancient Wandjina and Gwion Gwion (Bradshaw) paintings near the King Edward River, some of the earliest figurative art known. The journey then continues to Drysdale River Station, an authentic working cattle station and welcome outpost in this remote corner of the Kimberley.

Today follows Manning Creek to Galvans Gorge, a small but striking waterhole framed by ancient boab trees and rock art.
