Billy Tea Safaris operates small-group 4WD day tours from Cairns into some of Tropical North Queensland’s most iconic landscapes. The product range covers the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, a premium Reef and Rainforest helicopter combination, and an Outback adventure to the Chillagoe Caves. Three Safari Experiences – Stop by Stop

1 Day Daintree, Cape Tribulation & Bloomfield

A full-day 4WD tour through the Daintree Rainforest and along the Bloomfield Track to Cape Tribulation. Your clients are collected from their Cairns accommodation by an accredited guide, then travel north along the Captain Cook Highway with views of the coastline and the Coral Sea.

Stop 1: Daintree River Cruise & Morning Tea

The day begins at the Daintree River with morning tea (tea, coffee and biscuits) followed by a guided river cruise. Travellers learn about estuarine crocodiles, mangrove forests, and endemic wildlife as they drift through one of the most biodiverse river systems in the country.

Stop 2: Alexandra Range Lookout

A short drive over the Alexandra Range leads to a panoramic viewpoint where the Wet Tropics rainforest meets the azure Coral Sea. It is a quick stop, but the photo opportunity is outstanding.

Meet & Greet – 7:30am

Complimentary pick-up from Cairns or Port Douglas accommodation with transfer to the Nautilus Aviation Heliport.

Helicopter Departure – 8:15am

A Nautilus Aviation helicopter flight sweeps from the rainforest-clad coastline across the Coral Sea and into the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. From this aerial perspective, the vibrant coral gardens and sheer scale of the reef become clear. Pilots share local knowledge while scanning for turtles, dolphins, manta rays, and humpback whales (seasonal, typically June to October).

1 Day Chillagoe & Outback

The only full-day outback tour from Cairns. This 4WD experience crosses the Great Dividing Range into western Queensland, visiting ancient limestone caves, Aboriginal rock art, an outback pub, and Granite Gorge’s rock wallabies. A completely different landscape from the coastal rainforest tours – and a strong contrast option for clients spending multiple days in Cairns.

Stop 1: Skybury Coffee Plantation – Morning Tea

The day starts on the Atherton Tablelands at Skybury Coffee Plantation with coffee or tea, scones, jam, cream, and tropical fruit. The balcony views across the surrounding farmland set the scene for the outback ahead.

Stop 2: Chillagoe-Mungana Caves National Park
