Tasmania, Australia
Tasmania is compact enough to tour properly in under a fortnight, yet packed with the kind of experiences that feel entirely different from mainland Australia. World Heritage wilderness, convict heritage sites, pristine coastlines, and a food and wine scene that punches well above its weight. For international travellers, it’s often the part of an Australian itinerary that surprises them most.
Our Love Tasmania coach touring packages run as weekly departures for groups of 20 to 45 passengers aboard modern luxury coaches equipped with wheelchair access. Three itinerary options are available: a 6-day East Coast tour (Launceston to Hobart), a 6-day West Coast tour (Hobart to Launceston), or the full 11-day island loop (Hobart to Hobart). Each tour includes quality accommodation, an experienced Coach Captain, daily breakfast, selected lunches and dinners, national park passes, and entry to key attractions. Designed for agents building group series, incentive programmes, or tailor-made touring through Australia’s island state.

EAST COAST ITINERARY
Love Tasmania Tour (East) – 5 Nights / 6 Days
Welcome to Tasmania
Guests fly into Launceston, Tasmania’s second largest city and a genuine hub for food, wine, culture, and nature. Airport transfers are arranged, and the afternoon and evening are at leisure – time to settle in before meeting the group the following morning.
Launceston sits at the head of the Tamar Valley wine region. For clients arriving early, there’s plenty to fill an afternoon: Cataract Gorge is a short walk from the city centre, and the streets around the CBD are full of well-preserved Colonial and Victorian architecture.
Trade tip: We recommend agents book clients onto morning flights where possible. The afternoon at leisure gives travellers a chance to adjust before the touring begins in earnest the next day.
Accommodation: Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston
Meals: None

Launceston Sights & Josef Chromy Wines
The day starts with a visit to Josef Chromy Wines, one of Tasmania’s premier wineries. Guests join the “Go Behind The Label Tour” to explore the winemaking process from grape to glass, taste wines in their unfinished state, and then sit down for a 2-course lunch of fine Tasmanian produce with matched wines at the Cellar Door. It’s a proper introduction to the island’s food culture.
In the afternoon, the Coach Captain takes the group through the popular sights of Launceston – the city’s elegant parks, its streetscapes, and Cataract Gorge, a genuine slice of wilderness right in the heart of town.
Trade tip: The Josef Chromy experience works particularly well for food-and-wine-focused groups. International clients are often surprised at Tasmania’s winemaking quality – it sets a strong tone for the rest of the tour.
Meeting Point: Hotel Foyer at 9.30am
Accommodation: Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

St Helens, Bay of Fires & the East Coast
A full day travelling down Tasmania’s stunning East Coast. The group stops at St Helens, the coast’s largest town and Tasmania’s biggest fishing port. It was once a whaling town. Now it’s the gateway to the Bay of Fires – over 50 kilometres of white sand beaches, orange lichen-covered granite boulders, and crystal-clear water stretching from Binalong Bay.
The coach continues south to Bicheno, arriving in the afternoon. The Surf Coast beaches between St Helens and Bicheno are ideal for walking, beachcombing, and simply taking in the scenery.
Trade tip: The Bay of Fires is one of those Australian coastal experiences that photographs spectacularly. Make sure clients know about it when selling the East Coast itinerary – the orange boulders against turquoise water are genuinely eye-catching.
Meeting Point: Hotel Foyer at 9.00am
Accommodation: Beachfront Bicheno
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

Freycinet Peninsula, Wineglass Bay & the Great Eastern Drive
Before leaving the East Coast, the group visits the Freycinet Peninsula – home to Wineglass Bay, regularly listed among the world’s most beautiful beaches. The view from the lookout is worth the steep 1.5-hour return walk to the top (alternative options are available for anyone with restricted mobility).
After lunch, the journey continues south along the Great Eastern Drive, arriving in Hobart in the late afternoon.
Trade tip: Wineglass Bay is the hero image of the East Coast tour. The walk to the lookout is manageable for most fitness levels but it is steep – be upfront about this with clients. The alternative options mean no one misses out entirely.
Meeting Point: Hotel Foyer at 8.30am
Accommodation: Hobart IBIS Styles Hotel
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

Tasman Peninsula & Port Arthur Historic Site
A day of spectacular coastlines and deep history. The scenic drive to the Tasman Peninsula passes through Eaglehawk Neck, a narrow isthmus once guarded by dogs to prevent convict escapes. The coastal environment here is extraordinary – the highest sea cliffs in the southern hemisphere, plus rock formations like the Tessellated Pavement, the Blow Hole, Tasman Arch, and Devil’s Kitchen.
The main event is Port Arthur Historic Site, a World Heritage listed convict settlement with vivid history and compelling stories. It’s one of Australia’s most significant heritage sites and a place that leaves a real impression.
The group returns to Hobart for a farewell dinner that evening.
Trade tip: Port Arthur is a must-include for any Tasmanian itinerary. The site is well managed and the guided tours are excellent. For clients interested in Australian history, this day alone justifies the East Coast tour. The farewell dinner is a nice way to close out the touring.
Meeting Point: Hotel Foyer at 9.00am
Accommodation: Hobart IBIS Styles Hotel
Meals: Breakfast & Farewell Dinner

Farewell Tasmania
Airport transfers are arranged for departing guests. For clients continuing their Australian journey, this is a natural connection point for flights to Melbourne, Sydney, or onward destinations.
Trade tip: Hobart is worth an extra night for clients who want to explore Salamanca Market (Saturdays), MONA, or the waterfront dining scene. We can arrange post-tour accommodation and onward travel connections across Australia.
Meals: Breakfast

WEST COAST ITINERARY
Love Tasmania Tour (West) – 5 Nights / 6 Days
Welcome to Tasmania & Hobart City Tour
Guests arrive in Hobart and transfer to their accommodation. The Coach Captain meets the group at 1pm for a tour of the city and surrounds – Battery Point, Salamanca Place, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, and the summit of Mt Wellington (weather permitting). The view from the top stretches across Hobart and much of southern Tasmania, and the slopes are laced with walking trails.
That evening, the group gathers for a welcome dinner. A good chance to settle in and get to know fellow travellers before the touring begins.
Trade tip: We recommend morning flights into Hobart so clients are ready for the 1pm city tour pickup. The welcome dinner is included and sets a social tone for the rest of the week.
Meeting Point: 1pm, Hobart Accommodation – Airport transfers by arrangement
Accommodation: Hobart IBIS Styles Hotel
Meals: Welcome Dinner
The Wall in the Wilderness, Lake St Clair & Strahan
A big day heading into Tasmania’s World Heritage wilderness. First stop is the Wall in the Wilderness – a 100-metre-long wall of wooden relief sculpture depicting Tasmania’s stories. It’s an extraordinary piece of craftsmanship that catches most visitors off guard.
Next is Lake St Clair, Australia’s deepest freshwater lake, surrounded by ancient rainforest. The coach continues through Queenstown – a mining town with a unique barren “moonscape” and loads of character – before stopping at the Franklin River and the stunning Nelson Waterfalls en route to the village of Strahan on the West Coast.
Trade tip: The Wall in the Wilderness is a sleeper highlight. International clients rarely know about it beforehand but consistently rate it as one of the tour’s best experiences. Worth mentioning specifically when selling the West Coast itinerary.
Meeting Point: Hotel Foyer at 8am. Please check out before breakfast.
Accommodation: Strahan Village
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

Gordon River Cruise & Ancient Rainforest
One of the highlights of any Tasmania tour. The group cruises across Macquarie Harbour to the tranquil reaches of the Gordon River. First stop is Heritage Landing, where a boardwalk leads through ancient temperate rainforest – many of the trees are Gondwanan relicts, species that have existed for millions of years.
Lunch is served on board. In the afternoon, there’s time to stroll through the village of Strahan. The Huon Pine Mill is worth a visit for souvenirs.
Trade tip: The Gordon River cruise is consistently the standout day on the West Coast tour. The stillness of the river, the ancient rainforest, and the quality of the on-board experience make it genuinely memorable. This is a strong selling image for the itinerary.
Meeting Point: Hotel Foyer at 8am
Accommodation: Strahan Village
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

Cradle Mountain & Dove Lake
The journey heads north via UNESCO World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain. Guests take the shuttle bus to Dove Lake, a glacial lake set beneath the jagged peak of Cradle Mountain itself. The setting is spectacular. Walking tracks around the lake offer different perspectives, and the alpine wilderness feels a world away from the coastline left behind.
The coach continues to Smithton in the afternoon.
Trade tip: Dove Lake is one of Tasmania’s most iconic images. Weather can be changeable up here – that’s part of the drama. Even in cloud or light rain, the landscape is striking. Clients should pack layers regardless of season.
Meeting Point: Hotel Foyer at 8am
Accommodation: Tall Timbers Tasmania
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

Tarkine Edge of the World & The Nut at Stanley
An experienced Tall Timbers guide joins the coach for a half-day Tarkine Experience. The Tarkine is one of the world’s great temperate rainforests, and the Edge of the World lookout lives up to its name – nothing but the Southern Ocean between here and Antarctica.
After lunch, the group travels to Stanley, a perfectly preserved village of colonial buildings, cafes, and cottages, all sheltering beneath the Nut – a volcanic rock formation rising 143 metres from the sea. A return chairlift ride to the top (250 metres in distance) is included, with sweeping views of the coastline and village below.
Trade tip: The Tarkine and Stanley combination gives this day real variety. The “Edge of the World” name resonates well with international clients. Stanley itself is the kind of small Australian town that surprises – charming without being touristy.
Meeting Point: Hotel Foyer at 8.30am
Accommodation: Tall Timbers Tasmania
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

North Coast to Launceston & Farewell
The final day follows the beautiful north coast through the seaside towns of Burnie, Ulverstone, and Devonport. The route takes in the Cradle to Coast tasting trail – visits to local producers with coastal vistas as the backdrop. Tasmania’s food culture gets a final showing.
The coach arrives in Launceston, where the tour concludes with airport transfers.
Trade tip: Clients departing Launceston can connect to Melbourne or Sydney. For agents packaging the full Tasmania experience, the West Coast tour pairs naturally with the East Coast tour – or we can build the 11-day full loop itinerary instead.
Meeting Point: Hotel Foyer at 8.30am
Meals: Breakfast
